ELFI- Servicestelle für elektronische Forschungsförderinformationen
Research area: General / Interdisciplinary Language: German Period: 1998 - ELFI is the electronic information brokerage system that centrally supplies institutions of higher education throughout the German-speaking area with current details on opportunities to acquire research funding. It contains information on the modalities of acquiring funds (e.g., support programs, prices, fellowships, and the financing of material and travel costs) as well as details about 3,700 national and international funding institutions and about more than 8,000 research funding programs (link to the original source of information, leaflets, and forms can be downloaded directly). Each funding possibility is accompanied by a abstracts, addresses, contact persons, submission deadlines, and amount of funding. Users may call retrieve on more than 256 research disciplines and 35 interdisciplinary themes. The initial use of the database requires registration, to which one proceeds by clicking on the link "Einstieg in die Recherche." The information pages and certain services on offer are available even without registration. -

Research area: General / Interdisciplinary, Sociology, Economics Language: German GENESIS-Online is a statistical information system jointly developed by the Germany's federal and state statistical bureaus. Permitting metadata-aided research, it gives access to the wide range of official statistics relating to areas, population, gainful employment, and elections; education, social transfers and social services, health, and law; housing and the environment; economic sectors; foreign trade, business, and crafts; prices, wages and salaries, income, and consumption; public finances; and resource accounting. All individually tailored tables in the database are available free of charge. Extensive tables with several million values can be stored and updated in a personal user account after registration. A free API (web service interface) is available for further use of the machine-readable data. -

Research area: General / Interdisciplinary, Economics Language: German, English, French, Spanish Statista is a port that clusters statistical data from various institutes and sources. It offers statistics on more than 60,000 topics from over 18,000 sources across 20 categories of economic activity ranging from farming to administration and social affairs. The key content of this site consists of data that is relevant to decision-making yet both difficult to ferret out and complicated to analyze and interpret. They are drawn mostly from studies and results of current market research. The source, date of publication, number of persons surveyed, and other available metadata on each statistic are published, so the figures can be checked on Statista. Analyses and interpretations of data sets are based on scientific criteria. Note: The language selection not only changes the language, but also changes the content. In the selection "German", the focus is on Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the selection "English" the focus is on USA, China, UK, Europe. The selection "French" and "Spanish" refers to the respective country.
