Kürschners Deutscher Gelehrten-Kalender Online
Research area: General / Interdisciplinary, Science Language: German The database has the names and dates of more than 78,000 living and about 9,500 deceased scholars of German-speaking academic institutions. It lists their key biographical details, addresses, information on their focuses and fields of research. It also contains extensive bibliographical material, including a selection of the most important publications in journals, collective volumes, and encyclopedias. -

Research area: General / Interdisciplinary Munzinger Online consists of several databases: Persons (International Biographical Archive, containing more than 28,000 biographies), countries (Internationales Handbuch - Länder aktuell), Sports (International Sport Archive, with more than 10,200 biographies), Pop Music (Pop-Archiv International describes the major events in the life and career of each named artist, musical origins and orientation, and successes and flops), Time Lines (synopses of countries and topics), Memorial Days (the archive on days of remembrance relating to a broad array of biographical, historical, and cultural information), and Film (Infobase Film contains all cinematic reviews that have appeared in film-dienst since 1992). -

Research area: History, General / Interdisciplinary Language: German The World Biographical Information System Online (WBIS Online) collects several million short biographies from numerous reference works published from the 16th to the early 21st century. The biographical archives included in the collection take account of different languages and cultures. Also included in WBIS Online is the World Biographical Index (WBI), which gives users access to biographical data from 57 archives.
