The Book Citation Index contains over 40,000 (as per 2013) editorially selected scientific books (online and print editions) published since 2005 in a wide range of disciplines. 10,000 new titles are to be added each year, including volumes published as a series. As a module in the Web of Science Core Collection, the Book Citation Index adds over 13.5 million references to that collection. DigiZeitschriften is a research service which offers an electronic archive of core German journals of scientific importance. These are mainly journals with a long-established tradition in their field. All magazines are available in full-text from their first year up to a so-called ?moving wall? (about 3-5 years before the current year, depending on the publication).

Drawing on the English Short Title Catalogue, the Eighteenth Century Collections Online offers access to more than 180,000 titles of books, pamphlets, essays, and broadsheets that appeared primarily in Great Britain. The e-book collection contains works on history, geography, the fine arts, the social sciences, language and literature, theology and philosophy, law, medicine, natural science, and technology. Nearly 40 million pages are available for full-text searches with simple and advanced search criteria.

The collection has the full texts of more than 150 popular eighteenth-century periodicals published in Great Britain. The journals were drawn from the Hope Collection at the Bodleian Library in Oxford and from the sources at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. The issues selected for digitization were those not already contained in Early English Books Online (EEBO), Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO), or Early English Newspapers.

Elsevier offers its journal archive in subject-related collections. The national license contains approximately 1,500 titles.

GENESIS-Online is a statistical information system jointly developed by the Germany's federal and state statistical bureaus. Permitting metadata-aided research, it gives access to the wide range of official statistics relating to areas, population, gainful employment, and elections; education, social transfers and social services, health, and law; housing and the environment; economic sectors; foreign trade, business, and crafts; prices, wages and salaries, income, and consumption; public finances; and resource accounting. All individually tailored tables in the database are available free of charge. Extensive tables with several million values can be stored and updated in a personal user account after registration. A free API (web service interface) is available for further use of the machine-readable data.

The information offered by Genios encompasses more than 1,300 databases, 340 daily and weekly newspapers, 140 million details about businesses, 800 professional journals, 20,000 e-books, 270,000 market studies, and 3 million details about individuals.

The joint union catalogue (GVK) is the freely accessible section of the union database K10plus of the GBV and the SWB. The OLC are also accessible via this database. The OLC contain more than 48.8 million articles from more than 27,900 journals. Since its publication in 1993, this database has included tables of contents of journals of all disciplines with a special focus on the natural sciences. It is supplemented weekly with articles from more than 8,700 journals of different libraries. The Joint Union Catalogue (GVK) contains over 72.6 million titles with more than 183.0 million proofs of ownership of books, journals, articles, congress reports, microforms, electronic documents, data carriers, music, maps, etc. from approx. 1,110 GBV and SWB libraries. In addition, the journal references of all subito delivery libraries from Germany and Austria as well as other German university libraries are included.

Evaluation of scientific journals according to the criteria of the Institute for Scientific Information (for example "impact factor"). The data refer to the journals evaluated in the databases JCR Science Edition or JCR Social Sciences Edition. The online access is divided into: JCR Science Edition (approx. 8000 journals evaluated) JCR Social Sciences Edition (approx. 2600 journals evaluated) The JCR can be used to answer the following questions: How often has a particular journal been cited? By which journals was a journal cited? How soon and how long after its publication was a magazine cited? What other journals were cited by a particular journal? The data provide annual informational indicators such as citation rate, impact factor, Immediacy Index (how many times an article is cited on average in the same year) and Cited Half-Life (the half-life of individual journals). In addition, the JCRs provide information on which other journals are cited by a particular journal. The Journal Impact Factor indicates the average citation rate of a journal's articles in a given year. The Journal Impact Factor refers to the entire journal; it is not representative of individual articles or their authors Indicator for the "relative importance" of a journal within a subject area.

JSTOR offers access to the full-text versions of predeminantly anglo-american journals starting with the first volume up to the so-called 'moving wall'. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the content available in JSTOR. The WZB license agreement with JSTOR includes access to the following collections: The Arts & Sciences I Collection (119 titles), the Arts & Sciences II Collection (125 titles) and the Business Collection (47 titles).

As a "newspaper documenting everything", the Times from London has been offering authoritative, award-winning coverage since 1785, information on parliamentary debates, critical interpretation of facts, and a unique historical insight into the views of major reporters and editions of the respective epoch. The Times Digital Archive is an unrivaled opportunity to explore the content of one of the most popular and most frequently cited daily newspapers - online and in the respective context of the original edition. Thanks to the full-text search and classification of each article, each issue can be searched through by keywords in the title or article text, author and subject categories. Afterwards, the article can be viewed completely and quickly on the screen as a full text or the whole page on which a requested article appears. In addition, it is possible to watch a certain issue of the newspaper from a particular day and "leaf through" it.

The Times Literary Supplement (TLS) historical archive encompasses the full text of all TLS issues from the first number of 1902 through part of 2011. It affords a panorama of the works by prominent authors and thinkers in that period. It also contains theater, movie, music, and exhibition reviews. The database is completely searchable in full-text, including searches for anonymous articles, and has simple and advanced search criteria.

Torrossa contains approximately 1,500 monographs and congress reports of well-known Italian science publishers. These e-books address significant aspects of the humanities and the social sciences from a comparative perspective in the fields of archeology, history, classical studies, linguistics, music, philosophy, art, pedagogy, library sciences, sociology, and the study of the language and literature of Italy. A full-text search is possible across all e-books.

Torrossa/Periodici contains 230 periodicals by prominent Italian science publishers in the humanities and social sciences. The national license extends to all available archive years through 2010.

Web of Science (WoS) is an extensive, multidisciplinary, bibliographical database with references to contributions in journals, books, proceedings, and other sources in the social sciences, the arts and humanities, natural science, and engineering.
