This database spans the literature of health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, and education. The database abstracts and indexes over 500 journals and periodicals, from more than 16 countries.

This collection is an interdisciplinary database that references articles from 1,144 arts and humanities journals. It also includes articles selected from 7,000 other periodicals in the natural sciences and social sciences. It provides bibliographic and citation information for articles cited in the listed publications

This database contains: Biological Abstracts Archive, 1926-1968 Biological Abstracts, 1969-2004 References to articles from approximately 6,500 periodicals in the fields of biology, botany, medicine, pharmacology, microbiology, ecology, parasitology, toxicology, and environmental sciences. BIOSIS Previews Archive, 1926-1968 BIOSIS Previews, 1969-2004 BIOSIS Previews contains the references of journal articles and references to conference reports, books, dissertations, and gray literature. The collection comprises more than 3.5 million bibliographical entries, generally with abstracts.

The Book Citation Index contains over 40,000 (as per 2013) editorially selected scientific books (online and print editions) published since 2005 in a wide range of disciplines. 10,000 new titles are to be added each year, including volumes published as a series. As a module in the Web of Science Core Collection, the Book Citation Index adds over 13.5 million references to that collection. Among other things, it allows users to search for comprehensive bibliographic information and to display the accurate numbering of citations (in journals, conference papers, and books).

The EconLit database analyzes more than 750 international periodicals in the field of economics. The source material consists of journal articles, chapters in collective volumes, research and working papers, books, dissertations, and reviews from all areas of political economics and business administration.

The eHRAF World Cultures database currently contains approximately 500,000 pages. More than 200 national and ethnic groups are indexed on the basis of field research published in ethnographic monographs, essays, and manuscripts, whose content is used as "primary data." The information is subject-indexed at the paragraph level by means of a highly sophisticated system-the "Outline of Cultural Materials" (OCM). The OCM contains more than 700 different elements of classification. A full-text search of keywords is also possible. The database is constantly updated.

This resource gives access to bibliographical information and abstracts relating primarily to literature in English (monographs, periodicals, dissertations, conference reports, government reports) and audiovisual media in all areas of pedagogy, including schools and class instruction; kindergarten education; special education; primary, secondary, and tertiary education; teacher training; adult education; and vocational training. It draws on two directories: Resources in Education (RIE) and the Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE).

The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) is an essential online resource for social science and interdisciplinary research. IBSS includes over two million bibliographic references to journal articles and to books, reviews and selected chapters dating back to 1951. It is unique in its broad coverage of international material and incorporates over 100 languages and countries. Over 2,800 journals are regularly indexed and some 7,000 books are included each year. Abstracts are provided for half of all current journal articles.

This database contains topics under public discussion and combines PAIS Archive and PAIS International, offering titles from 1915 to the present. This index of historical periodicals facilitates bibliographical research in approximately 4,800 journals in the arts, humanities, and social science in one user interface. It covers the period from 1739 to 2000 and gives access to publications in over 37 specialized areas and more than 40 languages and dialects.

PsycINFO (American Psychological Association) covers the international literature in all areas of psychology and in related fields of medicine, psychiatry, of nursing care, sociology, pedagogics, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, economic and legal sciences. Sources include approx. 2,000 journals, books, dissertations, and technical reports via platform Ovid. Bibliographic information, indexing terms, and abstracts are searchable.

PSYNDEX covers German and English publications from authors in the German-speaking countries from all areas of psychology and related behavioral and social sciences such as psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, sociology, education, philosophy, sports, criminology, linguistics, and applied economics. Also included are audiovisual media as well as psychological, psychiatric, and educational tests developed or in use in the German-speaking countries (including published and nonpublished tests, adaptations of American, English and other-language tests, informal research instruments). Sources include approximately 540 journals, books, chapters, reports, and dissertations. Bibliographic information, indexing terms, and abstracts are searchable in German and English.

This database affords access to all areas of the social services (e.g., social work, social welfare, social policy, health care, education, and minorities); journal articles, dissertations, and reviews; analyis of more than 1,300 professional journals.

Sociological Abstracts abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. The database provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from thousands of serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Records published by Sociological Abstracts in print during the database's first 11 years, 1952-1962, have been added to the database extending the depth of the backfile of this authoritative resource. Since 2002, most records from scholarly journals also include the references cited in the bibliography of the source article. These references are linked both within Sociological Abstracts and across other social science databases available on ProQuest.

This database encompasses indexes and summaries of the international literature on political science and international relations, along with related fields such as international law, public administration, and public policy. The database contains summaries of journal articles and information on book reviews from more than 1,500 publication series. It also has summaries of books, book chapters, dissertations, and working papers.
