It includes reliable and internationally comparable statistics on public and mandatory and voluntary private social expenditure at programme level. SOCX provides a unique tool for monitoring trends in aggregate social expenditure and analysing changes in its composition. The main social policy areas are as follows: old age, survivors, incapacity-related benefits, health, family, active labor market programmes, unemployment, housing, and other social policy areas.

It offers statistics on more than 60,000 topics from over 18,000 sources across 20 categories of economic activity ranging from farming to administration and social affairs. The key content of this site consists of data that is relevant to decision-making yet both difficult to ferret out and complicated to analyze and interpret. They are drawn mostly from studies and results of current market research. The source, date of publication, number of persons surveyed, and other available metadata on each statistic are published, so the figures can be checked on Statista. Analyses and interpretations of data sets are based on scientific criteria. Note: The language selection not only changes the language, but also changes the content. In the selection "German", the focus is on Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the selection "English" the focus is on USA, China, UK, Europe. The selection "French" and "Spanish" refers to the respective country.
