Short bio
Bruna Martins dos Santos is a visiting researcher from Brazil with a one-year research residency at the WZB. She is a recipient of the prestigious German Chancellor Fellowship for future leaders afforded through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Bruna graduated from the Centro Universitário de Brasília (CEUB) with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and brings along experience as a specialist consultant in Data Protection, Global Internet Governance and Content Governance. She actively participated in the discussions that led to the approval of the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Marco Civil da Internet) and the Brazilian Personal Data Protection Law. She currently holds the position of incoming chair of the Non-Commercial Stakeholder Group at ICANN, Co-coordinator of the Internet Governance Caucus and one of the co-facilitators of the Internet Governance Forum Best Practice Forum on Gender and Access. Bruna’s 12-month project at the WZB focuses on platform regulation and current intermediary liability discussions taking place in both Brazil and Germany.
