Jana Pannier is a doctoral researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society. She holds an MA in Sociology and Technology Studies from Technische Universität Berlin.

Formerly, she was a research assistant in the research group Quantification and Social Regulation at the Weizenbaum Institute as well as in the research area Digital China at Freie Universität Berlin. She has also worked in AI research and development in the tech industry prior to her master's studies.

Research interests: sociology of technology, science and technology studies, critical algorithm studies, practice theory, digitalisation of healthcare, technology co-design, care and contestation in digital societies, qualitative (digital) methods
