Research Fellow of the Research Department

Lisa-Marie Selvik is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the project “The International Diffusion of Democratic Backsliding”, led by Dr. Alexander Schmotz. She is a political scientist interested in information controls, rights advocacy, and civil society and political elite interactions. In her dissertation, Selvik focused on the politics of liberal rights in young multi-party democracies in Africa. Currently, she is studying processes of democratic regression and diffusion mechanisms.
