The bridge project investigates the transitions of young people with learning disabilities into the labour market. The main question is what role social and psychological (cognitive and motivational) resources play in interaction with systemic opportunity structures for entering the labour market. To this end, we compare, first, young adults with learning disabilities in Germany and England and, second, young adults who have completed special-needs school for learning disability and those who have completed lower secondary schools in Germany. The project is based on data from Starting Cohort 4 of the National Education Panel Study (NEPS) and the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England (LSYPE).
